Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you cover and if I am outside can I still access your services?
I currently cover Faversham, Whitstable, Herne Bay and Canterbury. If you are a little outside my usual area please do not worry - you may still be able to access my services. Just send me your postcode and I'll let you know if I can travel to you, however this may include a small additional mileage fee.
What happens during your free consultation?
During the consultation , we’ll sit down together and chat all about you and your dog. We will cover your dogs routine, personality, likes, dislikes and any special requirements. It is also helpful so your pup can get to know and greet me too. It’s simply a chance to make sure everyone feels comfortable and that I am the pawfect fit for your furry family member.
Will you transport the dogs?
I may need to transport the dogs to safe locations to walk them but this can be discussed during our consultation. Your dog will be safely secured in either a crate or doggy seatbelt. I have been driving for 7 years now and have a clean driving licence. Your dogs safety is my top priority.
What happens after the walks?
After your pup enjoys their walk with me , I will make sure they are cleaned to my best ability before taking them back home. I will provide them with fresh water and food if requested - as well as a farewell cuddle!
Do I get to choose where my dog is walked?
Yes you do! I want your pup to enjoy their walks just like they would if they were with you. Whether your pup loves a seaside stroll , woodland walk or a field sniffing adventure I always have locations up my sleeve to ensure your pup has a variety to choose from.
Why do you only do one to one walks?
I offer one-to-one walks because every dog deserves my full attention. Some pups are shy, some excitable and some simply prefer their own space. With solo walks , your dog gets calm , focused care and a walk that’s all about them.
How will I know how well my pup did our their walk , will you send updates?
After each walk , I will send you report on how your pup did and photos . I’ll let you know how your dog behaved, their mood, toilet breaks, the route we took and any observations that may be helpful.
What happens in extreme weather?
As your dog’s safety and welfare is my top priority , in any extreme weather your dog will not be expected to walk, instead I will provide an option for a visit.
In temperatures 20-23 degrees , plenty of cooling aids and water will be used. Walks may be shortened or re-arranged to earlier/later times in the day due to your dogs welfare and locations changed to shadier areas such as woodlands.
In ice and snow, walks may be cancelled free of charge due to safety issues. Drop ins will be offered in replacement if the walk is cancelled.
In strong gale winds dog walks may be shortened due to safety reasons.
What is your cancellation policy?
Infrequent services require a minimum notice of 7 days for cancellation, less than this will incur a half a rate charge.
Permanent slots will be paying for their slot whether used or not. If you provide 14 days notice you will not be charged, under 14 days notice you will be charged at half rate.
This is to ensure I can book other clients in your time slot to allow other pups the chance for their walk, visit or sitting.
When do I pay you?
You can pay in cash on the day or by bank transfer on the day of the service.
An invoice will be sent 1 day prior to the service, following which you have 5 days to make a payment , if the payment is later than 5 days, a late charge of £5 per day will be added to your invoice.
What payments do you accept?
I accept cash or bank transfer.
You will be provided my bank details on each invoice sent to you prior to the day of the service.
Do I need to supply a lead?
You can supply a lead yes , normally pups are most comfortable on their own lead. If not I do have plenty of leads for your dog.
Will you walk my dog off lead?
I will only walk your dog off lead with your consent ensuring that your dog has a good recall and is not reactive to their environment to ensure their safety.
What if you need time off , what is the notice?
I will provide 30 days notice for any holidays taken.
In the rare event that I'm sick and can’t provide a service , I will contact you straight away. I will either rearrange the service or I will make sure your pup gets a short visit for toilet and comfort if required. I would hate to ever let a pup down!
